Gambia’s dictator Yahya Jammeh fired three cabinet ministers in a department reshuffle on Wednesday, according to a statement issued.
Fisheries Minister Lamin Nyabally, Energy Minister Edward Sanneh and Minister of Presidential Affairs Yam Bamba Njie Keita were all dismissed from their posts after some departments were merged, the regime’s communique said.
The ministries of energy and petroleum, previously two separate entities, were joined.
The ministry of fisheries was integrated into the ministry of environment, water, resources, park and wildlife and climate change, while the Department of forestry was wrapped into the office of the president.
The dismissed Presidential Affairs Minister Keita was only appointed to that position on December 29 last year and sworn-in 24 days ago. Her tenure in that portfolio was a day short of a month.
